The beach
Platges de Comte, also known as Cala Conta, is located on Ibiza's west coast near San José and is one of the island's best-known swimming coves. The beach consists of several small coves separated by rocky sections, with views of offshore islands and the open west coast. The cove is especially popular at sunset.
The water is usually very clear and, depending on the light, glows in turquoise and blue tones. The seabed is mostly sand, with rocks and gently sloping areas in places, which makes swimming pleasant. Due to the location and shape of the cove, the water can be calm or slightly choppy depending on the weather.
The atmosphere is lively in the high season and can become quite crowded due to its popularity. The beach is ideal for visitors looking for a scenic cove with a great backdrop, less so for those seeking peace away from the crowds. It is generally suitable for families, but in peak season you should expect it to be busy.
