The beach
Cala Carbó is on Ibiza’s southwest coast, not far from Cala d’Hort and within the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia. The small bay is framed by hills and rocky sections, which gives it a much more sheltered and tranquil feel than many of the island’s better-known beaches. Es Vedrà is often clearly visible from here, adding to the bay’s scenic appeal.
The beach consists mainly of pebbles and coarse sand, with some stone and rock sections at the edges. The water is usually clear and slopes down fairly gently, but it can become rougher in wind or swell than in a completely sheltered swimming bay. Visitors especially appreciate the natural surroundings and the relatively relaxed atmosphere.
Cala Carbó is especially suitable for visitors looking for a smaller, less crowded bay and who are comfortable with the pebbly ground. Families with very small children will not always find the most comfortable conditions here, as getting into the water and lying on pebbles can be less comfortable for longer beach days. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, lovely views and good food right by the water, this is the place for you.
