The beach
Cala Vadella is on Ibiza’s west coast in a deeply cut, sheltered bay near San José. The beach is framed by low rocks and hills, giving the bay a calm, almost enclosed shape. As a result, Cala Vadella often feels noticeably calmer than many of the island’s more exposed stretches of coast, even on windier days.
The beach is made up mainly of light, fine sand and slopes gently into the water. The sea is usually clear and shimmers from turquoise to blue-green depending on the light. Thanks to its sheltered location, the water is often calm, which makes the bay especially pleasant for swimming.
Cala Vadella has a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with holiday accommodation, restaurants and a bit of infrastructure close to the beach. The area is well suited to visitors looking for an easy beach day with swimming and short walking distances. If you appreciate nature, protection from waves and a manageable setting, you’ll feel right at home here.
