The beach
Caló des Moro is located directly in San Antonio on the west coast of Ibiza, not far from the well-known promenade and the Sunset Strip. This small rocky-and-sandy cove is easy to reach and is one of the beaches that are mainly visited because of its location in the town itself. Thanks to its proximity to the built-up area, it feels much more urban than many of the island’s larger coves.
The beach is rather small and narrow, with a mix of sand, rocks and partly flat platforms. The water is usually clear and often calm in the sheltered cove, but depending on the weather and boat traffic it can feel lively. There is limited space for lying on the beach for longer periods, so Caló des Moro is more of a bathing spot for a short stop than for a whole day at the beach.
The atmosphere is especially lively in the evening, when many visitors are out in the area for the sunset. During the day, the beach is ideal for anyone staying central in San Antonio and looking for a swimming spot that’s easy to reach. It’s only partly ideal for families with small children because of its size, but it is attractive for couples, solo travelers and sunset fans.
