The beach
Es Codolar is in the south of Ibiza, near Sant Jordi and not far from the airport. The beach stretches along a long, natural stretch of coastline beside a rather open bay that is prone to wind. The location feels secluded, but it is easily accessible from the road.
Instead of fine sand, you’ll mainly find pebbles, stones and some larger rock slabs. The water is clear, and the shoreline slopes differently depending on the section, making it better suited to nature-loving swimmers than to classic sunbathing. Because of its exposed location, it can also get a bit rough in windy weather.
The atmosphere is calm and unspoiled, especially outside the high season or at off-peak times. Es Codolar is ideal for visitors who don’t need much infrastructure and are looking for an undeveloped beach. It is only limitedly suitable for families with small children, as the ground is uneven and there is often little service.
