The beach
Figueretas is located on Ibiza’s southern coast right on the edge of Ibiza Town and is one of the easiest city beaches on the island to reach. The bay stretches along a well-kept promenade with palm trees, cafés and small hotels, so the beach and urban surroundings are closely connected here. Thanks to its central location, the beach is especially suitable for short swim stops and an easygoing stay.
The beach is mostly made up of fine to medium sand and slopes gently into the water. The sea is usually calm to moderately choppy, making swimming pleasant, though light waves can occur depending on the weather and boat traffic. Because of its sheltered setting, Figueretas is less natural than many coves in the northeast, but it is very easy to enjoy.
The atmosphere is lively, but compared with the island’s party beaches it is much more relaxed. Especially in the low season and in the morning, the beach feels practical and uncomplicated; later in the day it gets busy with walkers, locals and visitors. Figueretas is ideal for beachgoers who value proximity to the city, infrastructure and short distances, and less suited to those seeking peace and quiet with lots of nature.
