The beach
Talamanca lies east of Ibiza Town and is a sheltered, elongated bay with an easily accessible stretch of beach. Because of its proximity to the city, the beach feels much more urban than many other bays on the island, but it is usually calmer than the big party beaches. Along the promenade, hotels, restaurants and bars shape the scene.
The beach consists mainly of fine to medium-grained sand, with some sections of pebbles or seaweed deposits depending on the wind and season. The water is usually calm and slopes gently, which makes Talamanca appealing for relaxed swimming. The bay is open enough to feel lively, but its shape often keeps it well protected.
Talamanca is ideal for visitors who appreciate being close to Ibiza Town, short distances and an easy-going beach atmosphere. Families, walkers and swimmers will find good conditions here, especially outside peak times. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, it’s better to come in the morning or in the low season, as the beach can get busy in the summer months.
