The beach
S’Espalmador is a small, uninhabited island north of Formentera, which can only be reached by boat from Ibiza. It is not near Sant Jordi itself, but is often combined as an excursion destination from Ibiza with offers from Ibiza Town or the south of the island. The beach feels very natural and secluded, with no development or classic beach infrastructure.
The coastline is characterized by light, fine sand, along with shallow sections with clear water that usually appears turquoise to light blue. Depending on the weather and wind, the water surface can be very calm, although this is an exposed island location and conditions can change. The natural character is clearly the focus here.
S’Espalmador is especially suitable for boat trips, those seeking peace and quiet, and anyone looking for a very unspoiled beach and island spot. It is only of limited use for families, as there is no regular access by road, no facilities, and no reliable on-site supply. Anyone coming here should bring everything they need and be prepared for a natural, undeveloped stay.
