The beach
Cala de Sant Vicent is located in the northeast of Ibiza, a little away from the main tourist centres and framed by wooded hills around the bay. The beach belongs to the small village of the same name and is lined with a few hotels, apartments and restaurants. Thanks to its sheltered location, the bay often feels quieter than many beaches on the open coast.
The beach consists mostly of fine to medium-grained sand, with some lighter pebbles at the edges. The water is usually clear and slopes in quite gently, making the bay well suited for swimming. In windy conditions and with swell, however, the conditions can vary more depending on the weather than the sheltered appearance might suggest.
Cala de Sant Vicent is ideal for travellers looking for a classic bathing beach with facilities and yet a manageable, fairly relaxed atmosphere. Families usually find suitable conditions here, as do beachgoers who value sun loungers, restaurants and an uncomplicated beach day. If you like it lively and urban, you'll be better off at the larger beaches in the southwest of the island.
