The beach
Cala Xarraca is located on the north coast of Ibiza, north of Sant Joan de Labritja. The bay is framed by wooded hills and rocks, making it feel much more secluded than many beaches in the south of the island. Thanks to its sheltered location, it is one of the best-known small bays in the north.
The beach consists mainly of sand and pebbles, with some larger rock and stone sections at the edges. The water is usually clear and drops off relatively quickly, which makes the bay especially interesting for snorkelers. In the area, you will often also find rocky sections with algae and shallow zones, which can make the water appear turquoise in places.
Cala Xarraca usually has a calm, nature-focused atmosphere, but it can get busy in high season. Families, bathers and snorkelers alike get their money's worth here, although the beach is not among the largest or best-equipped on the island. Anyone looking for a small, scenic bay with clear water will find a typical example of Ibiza's north coast here.
