The beach
Pou des Lleó is located on the northeast coast of Ibiza, not far from Sant Carles de Peralta. The small bay is framed by low hills and rocky shores and feels much quieter than the island's large beaches. It is also known for its small boathouses and traditional coastal atmosphere.
The beach itself consists of a mix of sand and fine gravel, with rocks at the edges in places. The water is usually clear and gets deep quickly offshore, which makes the bay particularly suitable for swimming and snorkelling. Depending on the wind, however, it can also be a bit choppier here.
The atmosphere is relaxed and local, with a small restaurant directly on the beach specialising in fish and seafood. Pou des Lleó is ideal for visitors looking for a manageable, less touristy bathing bay. Families can generally get by, but if you're expecting lots of facilities or wide sandy areas, this is not the place for you.
