The village church Sant Carles de Peralta is one of the defining buildings in the small village center of San Carlos in northeast Ibiza. The whitewashed church stands very close to the central squares and, with its simple rural architecture, fits well with the character of the place.
San Carlos was long known as a meeting place for artists, dropouts, and hippies, and the church forms a calm, traditional counterpart to that. Visitors to the village will see less a major attraction in the classic sense here than an authentic part of rural Ibiza: a church that shapes the village scene and can easily be combined with a stroll through San Carlos or a visit to the surrounding area.
