Naturpark Ses Salines is located in the south of Ibiza between Ibiza Town and Sant Jordi and extends as far as Formentera. It includes historic salt pans, wetlands, dunes and stretches of coastline that have been used for salt production for centuries. The landscape is not only of cultural and historical interest, but also ecologically valuable, as numerous bird species find stopover and breeding grounds here.
The area is especially known for flamingos, which can be observed in the salt basins and wet zones depending on the season and water level. Visitors won't find a classic attraction with a fixed entrance fee here, but rather a spacious protected area that is ideal for walks, nature watching and quiet photo stops. Anyone visiting the park should expect sensitive nature and often plenty of sun and little shade.
