Dalt Vila is the historic heart of Ibiza Town and one of the island's most important sights. The old town sits on a hill above the harbor and is surrounded by a mighty Renaissance city wall built in the 16th century to protect it from attacks. Together with the adjoining historic areas, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999.
Visitors can explore a network of narrow streets, steep steps, small squares, viewpoints, and historic buildings here. Depending on the route, you'll come across city walls, gates, churches, and museums, as well as quiet corners with views over the harbor, the old town, and the sea. Dalt Vila is not a single excursion destination with a set route, but a historic urban area best discovered on foot.
